In the paper the structural approach to recognition of self-embedding nature of waveform peaks is proposed. P0L systems are shown to be a convenient tool to generate the structural descriptions of nested peaks. The recursive analytical algorithm for obtaining such structural descriptions is described. The utilization of the proposed approach for waveform recognition is discussed.
